About This Spot

Walking into Thai Star feels like discovering a cozy neighborhood nook where the everyday rush softens into a warm, inviting pause. Located just off Orion Drive in Fort Myers, this unpretentious spot hums with a gentle rhythm—calm yet welcoming—with attentive hosts who balance efficiency and genuine care. The atmosphere invites both longtime locals and curious newcomers to settle in, sharing stories over meals that are thoughtfully prepared and brimming with familiar, comforting flavors.

The pace here encourages savoring each moment, whether you’re enjoying the lightly crisped spring rolls or a bowl of richly spiced Tom Yum soup that warms the senses without overwhelming. Plates arrive with a homey appeal, inviting hands to reach in and share—the kind of food that feels connected to family gatherings, where the textures and aromas spark memories and discovery at the same time.

What stands out at Thai Star is how the kitchen embraces authentic Thai and Lao influences in a way that still feels approachable. Dishes reveal a thoughtful balance, where a hint of spice is welcomed but never forced, and ingredients sing in harmony rather than shout. Whether it’s the gentle tang of a noodle dish or the fresh snap of vegetables in a stir fry, you can sense the care that goes into every bite.

This is a place where the staff’s knowledge of their food translates into small but meaningful moments—like guiding guests through spiciness levels or suggesting dishes to suit specific tastes. It's a welcome touch that adds to the sense that you’re not just another plate to be served, but a visitor invited into a thoughtful, shared culinary experience.

In a city full of options, Thai Star sits quietly as a jewel for those looking to explore flavors that are both comforting and a little adventurous. It’s a spot where meals linger and conversations flow, tucked away but never forgotten by those who appreciate authentic, heartfelt Thai cooking in a space that feels like a friendly extension of home.

Laos style food with Thai flavors. Stir fried plates are all off for vegetarians due to the fish sauce mix. The vegetable fried noodles I had was fantastic. The service is very friendly to warn me about their stars in terms of spiciness and the fish sauce in certain dishes. Definitely a good place to have Thai/Laos food.

First time visiting, we tried their TomYum Soup (with shrimps, level3 spicy). Just the right balance of sourness and spice. Will come back for more.

This is your sign to order the drunken noodles and the appetizer sampler!! So delicious and flavorful, I will definitely be ordering again. The fried tofu is insanely good I added sriracha to the noodles and it elevated it!!! 10/10

Everything was fresh and delicious. We found this little gem of a restaurant while looking for an Italian place to eat at, thankfully it (italian) was closed. So happy we went here instead! The people were amazing and so was the food! Highly recommend, if we lived local, we'd eat here a couple times a week! We had soups, appetizers, entrees, and coffee!

This is the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Large portions, always hot and best part always consistent. We are regulars here - about once a week and they’re a family owned business who values their guests. The best hidden gem in Fort Myers.

Food needs more dimension ( herbs, heat, sweet, sour, salty )Their Laarb Salad, Papaya Salad lack flavor.. love their Penang curry though.

I loved this place! Came for lunch around noon on a weekday, we were greeted and sat immediately. The gyoza are on point! By far the best I’ve had at any Thai, Japanese, or Chinese restaurant in the Fort Myers area. Service was very quick and the prices were fair for the portions. You pick your own spice level on a scale of 1-5. I went with a 3 and it wasn’t too spicy for the Cashew chicken. I’ll definitely be back!

I had a wonderful meal with my daughter. The gyoza was tasty as was the chicken drunken noodles- #2 spice level. It was perfect. The service was great and the restaurant was nice and clean. A very comfortable little place.
